NEW MOON

New Moon is MP's trial rank, all new members receive this rank upon joining. Our trial period is 4 weeks long, during which 3 levels of dressage are covered. New Moons covers the foundations of SSO dressage and beginner skills/moves. During this trial phase, New Moons will learn our terminology, fundamentals (such as arena lines, gaps, alignment etc) and beginner to intermediate moves.

New Moons cover the following levels:
MEET THE NEW MOON INSTRUCTORS
STEPHANIE BEACHLION
New Moon Baby Instructor

Hiiii my name is Niamh! I also go by Beachy to some in the club! I first started my SSO journey back in 2014, sadly I no longer have that account but I made this one in 2018!! I became acquainted with the dressage side to things in 2019, being in various clubs and competitions! I then joined MP back in late 2023, had a break and came back officially in October of last year and went on my way to become an instructor! I’ve always loved instructing and have plans to continue my growth to make the new moomins confident within their foundation knowledge! Irl, I’m a hairdresser! I’ve been dubbed as MP’s personal hairdresser at this point lol. If you ever need advice on your hair, I’m all ears… no judgement… I also have my little fur baby Zahma, she’s a half bengal and the loudest little being ever. If you ever see me in game I’m normally running round bored out my mind, so feel free to come say hi!!!
FOUNDATION
Foundation is the first level that our New Moons will cover, this covers the very basics of dressage, along with our terminology and anything else you may need to know. We do not test for this level, passing just requires turning up to the lessons it is taught in!
- Introduction to MP (important info + our teaching style)
- Arena lines
- Gaps and screen delay
- Alignment
- Basic moves
LEVEL 1
Level 1 is where our New Moons learn the most essential skills and moves, they are introduced to our terminology along with beginner some some easier intermediate moves. Our way of circles is also introduced in this level too. Once all content is covered, a test is taken covering all content within this level.
- Terminology
- Circle points
- Beginner moves
- Low intermediate moves
- Basic flat moves
LEVEL 2
Level 2 is more exciting than the other levels, and also possibly what everyone looks forward to the most within our New Moons rank! Within level 2, we cover routines, this is where our New Moons learn a routine suited towards beginner riders so they can gain experience of learning and performing routines. Our New Moons choose the theme for this routine (it can literally be anything!) and will perform it for our club members at our Moomin Ceremony when they graduate. The routine is technically the test for this level, all are required to perform it and will be given feedback on both their individual and group performance (to give them that feel of a competition).
